Abu Dhabi's starred restaurants are fewer, but Erth, Hakkasan and Talea offer three distinct reasons to book. The capital's fine dining is easier to navigate and less likely to leave the weekend feeling like a corporate awards dinner.
Local character: the contest gets closer
Old Dubai gives Dubai unmatched culinary depth through Deira, Bur Dubai and Al Ras. The city's homegrown restaurant movement adds another contemporary layer through Jumeirah, JLT, the Greens and Al Satwa.
Abu Dhabi answers with modern Emirati cooking, long-standing local institutions and newer clusters around Mamsha, Al Bateen and Saadiyat. Its food identity is quieter but increasingly coherent.
